Keeping your lawn in the Summer

Watering / Seeding

It is perfectly OK to let your lawn turn brown in the summer. It’s not dying and will be green as soon as the rain comes. If you want to avoid this there are some actions you can take. The most obvious, would be to water on a timer between 4-8am. You are aiming to water an inch between this time. You can put out a bucket and check to see how long your sprinkler takes to fill it one inch, then set your timer for that length of time each day it doesn’t rain. You could also overseed your lawn with a drought tolerant type such as Buffalo Grass. If you don’t feel comfortable doing so, we can help. Please reach out. I hope this helps – Nick
